"Black-and-white photography is a metaphor for life in that nothing is really black-and-white but a variation of grays. In between the black and the white are infinite variations of gray. The black-and-white photograph in itself is an acceptance of an alternate reality. This optical cognitive dissonance is an acceptance of reality in the variations of gray between the polls of black-and-white. Where life is lived, and decisions are made our choices, or actions are in these variations of gray between the poles of black-and-white. The black and white photograph is a way to realize that our viewing of the world is only our very own perception."
